On December 23, 2023 we marked the first anniversary of UsPaar. The event was graced by Jehan Manekshaw from the Drama Schools Foundation, who delivered an insightful keynote address on the role of Theatre and Performing Arts as a medium of societal reformation in the current political climate. The evening unfolded with a performance of “SOUL” directed by Sunil Shanbag, a harmonious rendition of music from the Bhakti tradition, featuring some of Mumbai’s most talented singer-actors.
Reflecting on the past year, it has been an enriching journey filled with growth and exploration. UsPaar has become a space for creative minds, and has welcomed a diverse group of theatre makers, musicians, playwrights, and movement artists who utilized the space to extend their artistic explorations and incubate new works.
We express our gratitude to all those who have contributed to the success of our residency, especially The Kamala and Sitapati Ganesh Charitable Trust, our invaluable partners for their unwavering support, and to the performing arts community at large.
UsPaar now eagerly looks forward to another year of fostering creativity, nurturing artistic endeavors, and continuing to be a vibrant and accessible hub for the performing arts. The journey has just begun, and the promise of more exciting and innovative work lies ahead.
