Kalpalata is a public charity platform that seeks to work with focus and depth in areas that are central to the quality of life in Mumbai City: Art, Culture, Education, Environment and Social concerns.

Created in the memory of philanthropist Sitapati Ganesh, Kalpalata believes that great communities and cities are built on the strength and richness of their cultural and social institutions. They operate primarily in Mumbai, which is blessed with great institutions, some of rare vintage and vigour.

Kalpalata Trust provides financial and operational support to projects that have inspirational leadership with the intent of charting a promising course with a clear purpose and vision. These projects need to be systemic and longer term in their impact.

One of Kalpalata Trust’s most significant investments in the Arts has been towards the creation of Us Paar, a theatre space and arts residency in Kashid, Maharashtra – to nurture and support the performing arts – in collaboration with Tamaasha Studio Foundation.
